Additional information

Production Year: 1978

The Tabouret tournant stool takes inspiration from the swivel armchair designed in 1927 by Charlotte Perriand for her Place Saint-Sulpice apartment in Paris. It was also part of the group of furniture exhibited at the Salon d’Automne in 1929. Included as part of the collection co-authored by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, its iconic, versatile shape reflects their desire to simplify mass production by employing common elements. With sustainability in mind, the stool is made using circular materials. The innovative construction of the cushions introduces the use of recycled PET wadding and, for the foam parts, employs polyurethane with a percentage of polyols derived from biological sources. Also available in an outdoor version, the stool has been awarded Catas certifications, thanks to structural updating by Cassina in 2016.
